TWELVE Small Steps You Can Take to Reduce Toxins
Because I’ve learned so much in my journey to understand what is in our environment, I’d like to share a set of small but impactful behavior changes one can make in their daily lives that can reduce toxin exposure:
- Minimize how much you handle printed receipts (ask for electronic copies)
- Wash your hands after handling house keys and try not to have your kids play with them
- Remove your shoes at the front door
- Try to avoid takeout food in plastic or aluminum packaging
- Minimize your intake of fruit juice
- Find alternatives to non-stick cookware
- Minimize consumption of foods containing rice
- Soak rice overnight and rinse it 3x before cooking it
- Find alternatives to wrinkle-free clothing
- Buy a garden hose that is PVC-free
- Choose sardines, anchovies, oysters, and Alaskan wild salmon
- Find waterproof products that are PFA-free
